Gent (Dutch: Gent, French: Thinking) It is one of the oldest cities of Belgium. It is the capital and largest city of the Province of East Flanders. The city was built as a settlement at the confluence of the rivers Scheldt and Lys on the 7th century and ended the Middle Ages one of the largest and richest cities in northern Europe. Today is a busy town with a large port. The city is connected to the sea by the canal Ghent-Ternezen, Located at the intersection of the European highways E17 and E40 has one of the busiest railway stations in Belgium.
